About the Author

I started blogging this year when I came to study abroad in Hong Kong, and have found that it’s quite fun and interesting. You can really learn from someone else’s life experiences. I also recently learned about how dangerous blogging can get. In a course I’m taking at my university, we checked out what sort of information Chinese bloggers are putting out there. On one blog, the address of a Pro-Tibet protester was published along with a picture of his house and some hateful propaganda. Needless to say I was quite impressed with the power of a blogger.

I’m interested to see what sort of stuff I end up putting in these pages. Perhaps I’ll get to participate in some ground-breaking global intelligence or just really embarrass myself with 1. bad grammar 2. mean rants or 3. boring life stories. I hope to see my writing style improve as well as see my thoughts manifest into something beautiful. Yay, I’m a blogger.

    Hi Christy,
    Hello,

I read with interest your recent post on The Green Collar Economy. It was great to see the book mentioned, and as the assistant publicist with HarperOne, which published the book, I wanted to let you know about a great resource that we have available on our website that allows visitors to your website to read an excerpt of the book for free online. It’s a great way for readers to connect with the material that you are discussing. To get there, you can just copy/paste the URL below:

    http://browseinside.harpercollins.com/index.aspx?isbn13=9780061650758&wt.mc_id=pub_wm_av

If you don’t use it, no worries–but I wanted to pass it along so that you would have something to offer your readers who might want a little bit more.

    Thanks!
    Laura
